Buckeyes in the making!!!

So it is official! We have made it 26 weeks into the pregnancy and things could not possibly get any better! Our doctors are expecting Leanne to be able to carry the babies to week 36 and are even hopeful that she we go all the way to 37 weeks.

The boys are right on track as far as growth... "Baby A" is approximately 1 lb 12 oz right now and "Baby B" is about 1 lb 13 oz.
It is getting crazy around our house already, we have the cribs set up, the limo sized double stroller, two swings, we are stock piling diapers, two car seats, some clothes, and it still seems like there is still a million things that need to be done. We are so thankful that we have amazing family and friends who have been helping out with our big purchases, otherwise we would be in a world of hurt with twins! Although you are never fully prepared to be a parent, especially of twins, we are getting more and more excited and anxious every day, we can't wait to meet these little guys who are moving all around in Leannes tummy. Watching them dance around her belly in the evening has become one of our favorite things to do together in the evening.
The Penny household is also gearing up for the annual big game... Ohio State vs Michigan. By the household I mean myself :o) All week at school my P.E. aide who is from Michigan and myself have been going back and forth, on Friday we are having our first ever Go Bucks vs. Go Blue day where the students (who don't know much about the rivalry other than the team colors) wear either red or blue and get competitive in the classroom. VERY EXCITING!
Our baby shower is rapidly approaching as well... although we would have loved to have invited everyone we know, unfortunately it just was not possible. Our great friend Missy Francis is hosting the party at her mothers beautiful home with my mother. My sister-in-laws Sommer and Marcia will also be helping get everything set up and arranged so we are quite excited to see how everything turns out.
Leanne and I actually registered at Babies-r-us which was a whole bunch of fun. If anyone wanted to go check that out you can totally tell when I got away from Leanne and scanned a few things on my own because that scanner gun is just too much fun!
We will actually be having the baby shower on December 6th a few hours after I finished running the Las Vegas Marathon (I know, crazy, but I know I can do both!) The marathon has been a goal of mine for the past year and something I have been training very hard for. For those of you who are not aware, my brother who is now a detective with the LVMPD was shot in the leg on June 5, 2008. To help inspire him to make a full recovery and let him know how much of a hero he is to not only myself, but to our family and our community I promised him that I would run this marathon for him.
Sorry for such a delay in between posts, but since the high school football team that I coached football season is over, hopefully I'll be updating more so that I don't have to write a small book every time just to keep everyone posted.
Much Love...
Devin and Leanne

Week 20 and Doing Great!!!

This week Leanne went to both of our doctors for check ups and everything is going great. The doctors were actually planning on putting Leanne on bed rest starting this week, but everything is going so well that the doctors say she is allowed to continue working for now(THANK GOODNESS!!!). Both boys are developing very well and even though Leanne is only 20 weeks, her body is actually measuring at 26 weeks. That is perfect as they say with twins her body should be measuring at about 24-28 weeks so we are right on track. We still have not decided on a name for one of the boys but I think we are starting to get close. Once we have decided on both names, we will announce them here on the blog.
A funny thing actually happened while Leanne was getting the ultrasound this week, while they were taking pictures of the little guys boy parts, Baby B kicked Baby A between the legs, everyone in the room apparently got quite a laugh out of that. As I said before, unfortunately as a first year teacher I do not get much time off so I get to hear all of these stories once Leanne leaves the doctor. At least I get to see the pictures and videos when they are available :o)
We are hoping that within the next week or two that I will be able to feel the babies moving around on Leannes stomach, she is definitely feeling them all the time and I am getting anxious to share that feeling.
This week is going to be a very busy and stressful week for us. As some of you know, our house was broken into and robbed in late June, while Leanne was at home of Monday, she watched the two homes across the street get robbed and we finally called out property management company and said enough was enough that we wanted to move so they found us a place to move into next weekend. The good news is that we are not moving to far away and we are moving into a place that is about 100 square feet bigger, $150 / month less and in what I believe to be a safer neighborhood. I have a couple of players I coach from Palo Verde's football team that are going to help along with my family that lives here in town which will be a HUGE help!
I will keep everyone posted once we move into the new place and everytime Leanne has gone to a doctors appointment.

We've Got Ultrasound Pics!!!

Good Evening everyone!!!
Say hello to Our Two Cents!!! (Sorry if you are offended by the Adult Content in Baby B's picture) It was confirmed at the doctors office today that Leanne and I are officially having two boys. We could not be more excited. The doctors also confirmed that the both babies are in perfect health and are exactly where they should be as far as their growth and organ sizes. We have gotten plenty of well wishes and congratulations from everyone which we would like to thank you for, they all mean more than you will ever know! Although I was unable to attend the doctors appointment today, Leanne called me as soon as she got out to give me the great news. Although the two of us had another one of our busy days, the best part was when we got to sit down together in the evening and watch the DVD from the unltrasound that our doctor gave us and look at the still pictures as well. I have to admit its kind of nice to get to watch the DVD and get that experience when I am unable to attend. Unfortunately, I have not been able to make it to any of the doctors appointments since school started as I am saving all of my sick time for when the babies arrive. As a new teacher I don't get too much personal time so I am saving it all up for when it will be most important use.
Thanks again for checking in and I will keep posting occasionally to let everyone know whats going on with our pregnancy and whatever else is going on in our lives.

Approaching 18 Weeks Already!

So I (Devin) have decided to post a first real blog on our new site. This should be pretty interesting to say the least...
Leanne goes in on Wednesday to the doctor to get the official confirmation as to whether we are having a boy and a girl, or two boys. Either way we will be thrilled! The fact that we are having twins is where the title of our blog "Our Two Cents" came from (Thanks Sommer!).
This Friday we will officially be 18 weeks along as well and seeing as how the doctor has already determined that due to Leannes conditions, she will not have the babies any later than 36 weeks, that means that we are half way there! YIKES!
As exciting as it though, it is equally nerve racking. I haven't even started to clean out the babies room yet to start to make room for the baby stuff to come (I did promise that I would start this coming weekend though). The best preparation that Leanne and I have right now are our jobs! I would with 650+ elementary children every week as the PE Teacher at Lomie Heard Elementary School and Leanne works for the City of Las Vegas as a Safe Key site leader at Richard Bryan Elementary School. Although she doesn't get to encounter as many students every week as I do, it seems as though she still gets the ones that help you learn what good parenting does and what poor parenting does to a child. This will benefit us GREATLY once the time finally comes and we have our own decisions to make.
So with us being pregnant, my teaching, and Leannes safe key job you would think that we have our hands full, but of course I have to be an overachiever as well so I also am an assistant football coach at Palo Verde High School (Currently #95 in the US of A), work on-call as a valet at the New York-New York Hotel and Casino and am training to run in the Las Vegas Rock-n-Roll Marathon on December 6th for my brother Blake. I figure keeping myself busy now will only prepare me for the lack of sleep and energy needed to be able to keep up with the twinsies once they are here.
I also wanted to thank my brother Chase and his wifey Sommer for coming into town this weekend and bringing my only niece, Violet. Its always exciting to see them and see how quickly a child grows and how much potential they have in life. We love you guys and can't wait to see you guys again soon.
By the way, Blake, we are NOT taking in another one of your puppies, the spazzmatic Phoebe that we got is MORE than enough, we love her to tears but I do believe that Leanne and I would have a nervous breakdown if we got another puppy to go along with our poor little blind Lucy!
Well, I believe I have rambled on long enough, check back later for new blogs and updates pertaining to us, our pregnancy, our family, and our world :O)

First Time Blog

Hello all! So for those of you who are unaware, Leanne and I are expecting twins in 2010!!! With that news I decided to create this blog to not only document all of the events and news that come during the pregnancy, but to also document what else is going on in our lives.
